QuickBooks AI reporting

Ask questions about your QuickBooks Online data in plain English: profit and loss, cash flow, what customers owe, what you owe suppliers, and the invoices and bills behind them. Every figure links to the QuickBooks report or record it came from, and Synaptic Intelligence only reads.

What you can ask about your QuickBooks data

QuickBooks Online only. QuickBooks Desktop is a different product and does not connect.

QuickBooks beside your other systems

Which customers who owe us money have a deal open in the CRM?
  1. Finance reads what each customer owes, and for how long, from QuickBooks' aged receivables.
  2. Sales & Ops reads the open deals from your CRM, such as Salesforce. Customer is Sales & Ops' word, so the CRM decides who counts as one.
  3. The answer lists each customer with the overdue balance and the open deal side by side, each figure linked to the record it came from.

That question consults two departments and reconciles their answers, so it costs four credits. A question only Finance needs costs one.

How you connect QuickBooks

An admin clicks Connect with QuickBooks, signs in to Intuit and chooses the company. The connection has to answer a real request before Finance uses it.

QuickBooks offers one permission for accounting data, and on Intuit's side it also allows changes. Synaptic Intelligence only reads: every request it sends is a read, and a query that is not a read is refused before it is sent.

For IT and security: the exact permissions

OAuth 2.0 with Intuit's scopes com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting openid. Intuit has no read-only accounting scope, so the guarantee is in what is sent: reports are a fixed list (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance, aged receivables, aged payables, general ledger), and a query must be a SELECT, with any statement that could write refused before it leaves.

The company id arrives with the sign-in and is stored with the connection, so every request names the company you chose.

Which department it feeds

QuickBooks feeds your Finance department: the ledger, cash, receivables and payables. Finance owns the word revenue, so when another system reports a different revenue figure, the answer says whose is the real one.

Each person sees Finance's answers only if their job title allows it.

Plans

Each system you connect counts once. Starter and the free trial include three connected systems, Growth five, and Team, Business and Enterprise as many as you need. Reading answers is free for everyone; asking uses credits. See pricing.

Other systems

Thinking of connecting ChatGPT or Claude to QuickBooks yourself? Build or buy: what it involves. And for why two systems can both be right about one figure, why HR says 41 and payroll says 43.
